“Food to Build Bone Health” with Amy Lanou, PHD

For years, doctors have been telling us to drink milk, eat dairy products, and take calcium pills to improve our bone vitality. The problem is, they're wrong. This webinar will go over the latest clinical studies and the most up-to-date medical information to help you strengthen your bones, reduce the risk of fractures, and prevent osteoporosis. You'll learn why there's no proof of calcium's effectiveness, despite what doctors say, and why a low-acid diet is the only effective way to prevent bone loss.

Amy Lanou, PhD, a professor in Health and Wellness, is an expert in nutrition and her book "Building Bone Vitality" was featured in the New York Times. Lanou, who holds a doctorate in human nutrition from Cornell University, joined the UNC Asheville faculty in 2005. She has played an instrumental role in creating programs and coursework for UNC Asheville's North Carolina Center for Health & Wellness, which focuses on childhood obesity, workplace wellness and healthy aging. Previously, she taught nutrition at Cornell University and Ithaca College. She is also senior nutrition scientist for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting preventive medicine, especially better nutrition.

  1. Okay so Africa and Asia have less hip fractures. Maybe they drink less soda? Stop drinking milk and you will feel better, because you clean your system of the toxic non grass fed dairy, maybe try raw milk before quitting milk altogether? Cutting out dairy is very radical and maybe these other countries just don’t drink as much soda as we do in the US. probably around 50-70% less than us.

    1. I would definitely give raw milk a try, if it was more accessible.  I could then have my hot chocolates and mochas!

    2. +mspixiedust100 I think you kind of misunderstood the point of drinking raw milk when you stated you’d use it for mochas (sugar) and hot chocolates (more sugar).

  2. aside from good diet you must do weight bearing exercise. Lifting barbells is time consuming and it mainly works the arms but ignores the rest of the body so I woudl recommend a weight vest by nyknyc . wear it and increase bone mass in a year

  3. Today…..even “an idiot”, knows that homogenized and pasteurized milk is poison….and exactly the opposite.

Dairy and cheeses are losing ~1% of big business per year, per decade…due to “our having fuc&ed” with fresh milk too much.

REGULATED, homogenized and pasteurized milk is SIMPLY POISON. PERIOD.

FIND AND BUY NON PASTEURIZED MILK AND CHEESES…WE NEED WHAT GOD MADE US TO DRINK…NOT FOOD LOBBIES, THE FDA, ETC.

  4. Having seen this video I just have to share this because I spent several years switching from diet to diet without seeing any success until I came across Dianas magic plan (just google it). It is without a doubt the best weight loss that I have ever achieved and I am still trim to this day.

  5. Seeing this video I feel the need to share this because I spent years going from diet to diet without experiencing any real results until I came across Dianas magic plan (i found it on google). It is without a doubt the best results that I have ever had and it is still working to this day.
