  1. Hey Dr Berg, for the ear remedy do i use 1 drop of garlic infused oil or of pure essential oil of garlic? The essential oil is many stronger than the infused oil. You just say “garlic oil” and both are called that.. That’s for an adult by the way :-)

    1. Good grief, just watch the video over again. His video length is less than the time it takes to get something at Starbucks.

    2. 20alphabet i did, Dr Berg just says “garlic oil”, it could be either the essential oil or infused oil.

    3. Stick a clove of garlic in your ear and pour oil on it. Make sure you are laying on your side. Let your significant other eat your ear out. Good times had by all.

  2. I wish I’d started out on keto as a kid, i messed up my health with chocolate, fruit juice, and bread/pasta/cereal. Deadly combo.

    1. I wish I had also. I feel like I am almost dead from all the crap I have eaten during my life. I’m hoping to get better.

  3. A friend of mines daughter is doing keto due to epilepsy but my friend told me they cant use certain soaps, shampoos etc due to carb and glycerine content. Apparently externally applied glycerine and carbs can kick us out of ketosis. It seemed a bit far fetched to me but then this was advised by a pediatric neurologist. What do you think about this Dr. Berg?

    1. I put vinegar in my shampoo and later I get stomach cramps, so yeah any other ingredients that we apply and leave on for minutes get absorbed.

    2. Bianca Keto i seriously doubt vinegar, absorbed through your head, would give you stomach cramps. But maybe it broke something in your head.

    3. Bianca Keto So the acid didnt cause you to go into metabolic acidosis which is highly fatal but just went to your stomach?? and thru your scalp too?

  4. Just a thought but don’t u think the diet must be based on anyone’s metabolic activities? A child body is in growing phase where nutrient requirement varies from adult. A child not eating any form of sugar mainly fructose and lactose.. These kinda sugar components (not table sugar) come with other natural vitamins and minerals which can’t be replaced by synthetic products.

    1. texfromro vegetables in keto for kids? U gotta be kidding. Just calculate… For an average 15 years old kid of 5.5 feet height and 120 lbs, how much carbs he can have?

  5. What do you think about the addition of one fruit per day? After all, kids have a higher metabolism so I think they can tolerate that.

    1. Optimal HealthSeeker keto is about preventing insulin spikes. No metabolism can prevent that. However you can eat fruit on keto – just low GI ones (raspberries, blueberries), in small amounts (half a cup) and only after a fat and fiber rich meal.

    2. i have a 2 yr old i give her fruit and whole grain pasta ect. no sugar. only sugar she gets is fruit. just cook wholesome real food and i cant see tbat as a problem.

  6. Would be interested in more videos on tips/tricks to reduce carb intake for kids. We eat pretty healthy and i have managed to limit sugars well. But what about carbs, stodge such as bread/pasta? I eat low carb myself and not a lot of grains but it is difficult to instill the same for kids. I have one who seems to metabolise carbs well but i think it causes some degree of bloating and weight gain in the other (we are talking pre-teens and teen ages).

Winfinity Health if you took any time at all to find out what the author of the video actually says about this you’d know he insists of eating a lot of vegetables which contain carbs in healthy amounts including, yes, carrots, as well as fruit that doesn’t have heaps of sugar. Go home and do your homework. This video and discussion thread is about specifically getting rid of insulin resistance. Therefore the recommended nutrition will be different than for a perfectly healthy person. Please grasp this idea before commenting further because until now you’ve been very confused.

      Berg is – in this video – recommending this for KIDS. Not for epileptics. KIDS. Like Carboraider said, Berg is not specifying anything; very vague.

  8. How can an infant be raised on keto? Like what would a parent give the infant, say, if breast milk was not available?

  9. great info! loved it, that being said I do NOT agree with IF for kids, give them healthy keto choices for snacks because kids need all the GOOD calories to grow and for their brain. IMO IF is good 2-3yrs after puberty ;)

  10. I noticed a huge change in my kids’ digestion and mood after switching to keto and removing high allergenic foods. My son’s asthma literally disappeared. It can be restrictive when they’re at school, bday parties or social events, but so worth it for their health.

    Can you do a video on the benefits of KETO vs PALEO? I think this is a much needed video, as many of us ketoers have our kids on a paleo type of diet.

  13. My boy, aged 13, had become a bit overweight. Not obese, just a bit too round. When I started to discover keto, I casually explained him about sugar and carbs – and then in the summer, he went keto on his own! After the summer, he had lost four kilograms, and started growing taller quite fast, too. He’s now over 6 feet and perfectly slender. Eats some carbs again, but no sugar. His father is lagging a bit on the weight loss agenda…

  14. Even if it is healthier , i wouldn’t recommend depriving a child from carb heavy or “fun” foods. Everything should be fine in moderation. You only get to be a child once.

  15. HOLY COW. I hope you idiots on here are not thinking it’s ok to completly cut HEALTHY CARBS from your kid’s diet. Cutting out the processed sweets and junk food is what you need to be doing but not HEALTHY CARBS. Maaan, I got a bad feeling about this video, Doc, smh.
